Watchmen images are online!

Unless you've been living in a cupboard under the stairs or something for the last few months, you'll be aware that Watchmen, the seminal Alan Moore graphic novel of 1980's, is being
made into a movie with director Zack Snydner at the helm. Anyone who hasn't read the book, I urge you to do so. Frankly, it's amazing.

Anywho, the reason for my sudden outburst is that Empire (sourced from the official Watchmen website) have just released a batch of new character images from the film. For aficionados only we have: The Comedian, Nite Owl, Ozymandias, the Silk Spectre and the awesome Rorschach (my, and I daresay a lot of other people's, personal favourite). They look great, suitably superhero-ish with very, very dark overtones. I'm thinking Ben Affleck Daredevil suit mixed with Christian Bale as Batman (at least in the case of the Nite Owl). No sign of the 'bold', blue Dr. Manhatten yet, possibly because of his oft nude appearance in the comic book or maybe, as Empire postulate, it's due to some as of yet unfinished CGI tomfoolery.

I'll be honest, I've been on a bit of a roller coaster with the news of this film being made, starting with the highs at the announcement, then the lows when it was revealed that it would be low budget and to the highs again at the scene snaps released a few months back and now these excellent character images.

Looking good so far. Here's to staying on that high...
